The NEA Fund for Children and Public Education recommends reelecting Congressman Jim McDermott to the U.S. House of Representatives because he is a strong supporter of public schools, staff and students. In his interview he stated his education priorities:

• Improving teacher salaries to keep good teachers.
• Expanded funding for pre-K programs, i.e. Head Start.
• Reducing class sizes.
• Expanding access to college.
